Agrifirst Cooling Pad (Model 7090) is a high-efficiency cellulose evaporative cooling medium that forms the core of greenhouse fan & pad cooling systems. When hot air passes through these water-saturated honeycomb pads, water evaporates and absorbs heat energy from the air — a natural, energy-efficient process that drops the air temperature by 8–12°C before it enters the greenhouse.
How It Works
Water is continuously trickled over the top of the cooling pad from a distribution system. The pad's honeycomb structure (cross-fluted cellulose) distributes water evenly across a massive surface area. When greenhouse exhaust fans pull hot outside air through this wet pad, evaporation absorbs heat — cooling the air naturally. This cooled, humidified air then flows across the growing area.
Key Features
- 8–12°C Temperature Drop — Effective cooling even when ambient temperatures exceed 45°C
- 7090 Honeycomb Design — Cross-fluted angles (45°/45°) maximize water distribution and air contact
- High Saturation Efficiency — 90%+ cooling efficiency at recommended air speeds
- Self-Cleaning — Cross-fluted design resists mineral buildup and algae clogging
- 3–5 Year Life — Durable cellulose construction with proper water management
